Today I don't have anything of interest to post, but luckily there are others who do.
Good news: Once Upon A Zombie has apparently been un-discontinued, which I guess you already know if you follow their facebook. I didn't, but luckily ChristinaArticulates wrote a post about it - apparently there's a book/web series/something else that isn't dolls coming out, and there's a promo campaign where you can win dolls and stuff if you're American. The rest of us will have to wait, but at least this means their zombie!Alice doll is coming out after all. Alice seems to be a really popular choice for a doll character - there's probably a doll with a blue dress+white pinafore+blonde hair combo in every single doll line, from Licca to Liv. While I'm not automatically a fan of the Alice look, I really liked the OUAZ prototype from the toy fair last year and I'm glad it wasn't scrapped after all.
Also, D7ana/PhillyCollector is gathering links for a pinboard dedicated to Mattel's head glue problem. Got any links to posts, forum threads, reviews, rants about sticky doll hair? Submit'em! Of course, if you're following me you're probably following her as well, but I figure it doesn't hurt getting the word out as much as possible.

Zombie's new dress
Since I'm broke and not buying any dolls this month, I thought I'd sew some clothes for the ones I already have instead. I'm to lazy/tired to wite anything tonight, but basically this was supposed to be a simple, medieval/renaissance/1840s?-ish dress suitable for a zombified peasant girl but things got out of hand a bit. Good thing zombies don't care about historical accuracy.
Several more badly-lit photos behind the cut.

Zombified Alice, anyone? (OUAZ)
This is what I get for not keeping up with dollieh news: the same news, except 6 months later.
I've probably mentioned the Once Upon A Zombie dolls: zombified Disney princesses with huge awkward feet that were neither designed to fit in shoes, nor balance unaided on. Here's my Belle:
Her original clothes aren't quite as spooky.
There's also a web series a la Monster High, plus some promo art that includes zombified versions of prince Charming and Peter Pan. I'm holding my thumbs that eventually we'll see them as dolls as well, and once in a (zombie) while I'll check their site for news on the subject. There's been none so far, BUT yesterday I found out there's going to be a Zombie Alice in Wonderland! At least they presented a prototype at the NYC Toy Fair (in February!) - you can see her in this video, along with zombie Tinker Bell and zombie Pocahontas:
I'm slightly annoyed I didn't find out until now. But yeah, if she actually comes out she'll probably be on my wish list this Christmas.
Also, if you're in the UK (I'm not): according to the OUAZ dolls are now available in Argos.

Bratzillaz shoes, disappearing torso joints, and complaining about the Blogger app
There are so many functions I'm missing in the Blogger app. Not only things like putting things behind a cut, making hyperlinks and centering images, but also having access to settings, stats and subscribed blogs would be nice. Oh well.
Once Upon A Zombie Belle arrived from ebay. She was my chistmas present to myself, just the right mix of cute and creepy. I took pics, of course, but I'm too annoyed with the app to try and embed them! They're on Flickr though, if anyone's interested. Of course, now that I've used up my "doll allowance" for the month suddenly all the toy stores decided to have a sale. I saw a really good price on MH Skelita online, but she'll have to wait. C'mon, I'm supposed to be spending money on other people this month! Too bad no-one I know shares my taste. (Also spotted the first Ever After High dolls online, but the prices were ridiculous. I'm actually holding out for the less elaborate versions anyway, since I prefer my dolls in more realistic clothing and mostly want these for the new bodies.)
Actually, I got a couple more Bratzillaz outfits on sale. Since they fit MH so well I felt like I should stock up while I had the chance. For all the amazing footwear in the MH line, simple black boots are few and far between. Sometimes you just want something that goes with more than one outfit. The high boots even fit Liv and Barbie - or rather, the shafts fit the legs and keep the boots on, even though they're comically oversized. I wasn't sure what to do with the clothes, but they turned out to be a close fit for the Simba Super Models, so nothing will be going to waste here!
The rumors about the Fashionistas (or at least their articulation) disappearing seem to be true. All I could find when I went to the store was the glitter/jewel/something Fashionistas with the unarticulated torso (something I discovered purely by chance, luckily before I bought one). Bad news, since I still have a bunch of heads to rebody and the Dreamhouse dolls are way too expensive to be donors. They still had the 2-pac fashion designer dolls, though, so all is not yet lost. Once those are gone, it's back to hunting for reasonable international shipping deals on ebay...
Really, though, I can't complain. It's been a good doll month so far. :)
